The WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup 2023 marked the first edition of the competition played under the new two-stage format. Group A was hosted in Balbriggan, Ireland, bringing together six national teams including USA, Australia, Great Britain, Chinese Taipei, Ireland and Botswana.
PLAYO Production was responsible for the live broadcast production of the tournament’s Group A games, continuing our long-term cooperation with the World Baseball Softball Confederation.
For the production, we deployed our OB van directly to Ireland and provided the complete on-site broadcast operation throughout the event. The production covered the full competition programme, from the opening games through to the decisive playoff matches.
Delivering an international outdoor sports production in Ireland also required extensive technical and logistical preparation. Our OB van and production equipment travelled by road and ferry from continental Europe to the venue in Balbriggan, allowing us to operate with our own complete broadcast infrastructure on site.
The project was another international WBSC production delivered by PLAYO Production and demonstrated our ability to provide reliable multi-day live broadcast coverage anywhere in Europe.
