Winter 2018/2019

During the 2018/2019 winter season, we collaborated with the International Paralympic Committee on live broadcasts of Nordic and Alpine skiing (downhill, slalom, giant and super giant slalom) across Europe.

We covered the entire length of every track, which were usually around two kilometers long. We were shooting on 9 to 12 cameras, sending the signal to our OBV via fiber optic cables.

It was a great opportunity to explore beautiful places such as the Croatian capital Zagreb, the beautiful landscapes around Kranjska Gora in Slovenia, Italian Sella Nevea, Veysonnaz in Switzerland, Espot and La Molina, both located in western Spain.

We spent almost the whole winter in the mountains, with the first event held in early January and the last in late March.

The tricky part was to connect our CG system to a live-timing system. We had to correctly follow the racer’s time and slow down this time in relation to the level of the racer’s disability. Though complex and challenging, we succeeded!
